Results
The
Centenary Publicity committee had conducted an “Online Photography Competition”
with ‘Sugarcane’ as the broad theme. There was an overwhelming response from
competitors from across the country. After a careful and difficult scrutiny,
the jury has selected the following winners. The results were announced by
Director, Sugarcane Breeding Institute during the Valedictory of SBI’s
centenary celebrations on 18 December 2012. Congratulations to the winners!

CENTENARY Photography Competition
Centenary
celebrations of Sugarcane Breeding Institute
Sugarcane Breeding Institute of the
Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is celebrating its centenary
this year. One of the oldest agricultural research institutions in the country,
the Institute was established in Coimbatore in 1912 by Dr C.A. Barber, the then
Govt.Sugarcane Expert. The Institute is well-known in India and abroad for the
outstanding sugarcane varieties it has developed, which were grown in over 30
countries once.
Commemorating
its centenary, the Society for Sugarcane Research and Development (SSRD), Sugarcane
Breeding Institute, Coimbatore is organizing an online photography competition
open to all Indian citizens living in India.
The
submission details of the competition are enclosed and are available in

, www.sugarcane.res.in and www.caneinfo.nic.in .The last date for
receiving the entries would be 15 December 2012.

Entry forms for participating in the competition can be
downloaded from www.sugarcane.res.in or www.caneinfo.nic.in or
http://www.sugarcane100.blogspot.in/. Contestants are encouraged to carefully
go through the rules and regulations given below.
Submission
details:
Broad theme: Sugarcane

Entry is free
2.
Upload up to 3
(three) images related to the theme
3.
Fill –up the Entry form
4.
Include information about each photograph in the
entry form, sign, scan and send the form
along with the photographs.
5.
Upload color images with the following properties:
jpeg format
at least 300 dpi
maximum file size 5 MB
at least 300 dpi
maximum file size 5 MB
6.
Photos must be clear of any
copyright information so your identity is not revealed.
7.
Individual photographs must be your own work, and
cannot be older than 10 years.
8.
Entrants
must be 18 years of age or older to enter the contest.
9.
All photographs and other information must be
uploaded by email. All information submitted will remain confidential.
10. Manipulated photographs should not be
submitted.
Submitted entries should not have been previously published or have previously been awarded in other competitions.

11.
There will be three winners with 5 consolation
prizes.
12. Prizes will be
given away during the Valedictory function of SBI’s centenary to be held at
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. No Travel support will be provided.
13. Any
entries received after the deadline, photos of low quality, low resolution, out
of focus etc will be disqualified.
14. No
responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will
not be accepted as proof of receipt.
15. Sugarcane
Breeding Institute will have the right to edit, own, publish/duplicate any winning
photograph entry.
16. Judging
will be done by a panel of judges
